Penang, 6 October | The Second Prize of Big Sweep Draw 14/16 was won in Penang. The winning ticket worth RM1 million was believed to be sold out at Batu Lanchang market.

The ticket was distributed by Regirich Sdn Bhd, and according to its manager, Ms. Lai, it was sold out by a mobile ticket seller who mainly sells tickets around Batu Lanchang market.

She said that in January and May this year, they sold the tickets which won the First Prize at Georgetown and Butterworth respectively, and this marked a treble of top prizes sold by them in 2016. “However, the winner did not win the Jackpot Prize of RM6 million.”

Also present at the press conference was Pan Malaysian Sweeps Sdn Bhd Northern Region Head, Ms. Ang Chai Hong. She stated that with a prize structure change last year, tickets matching the first 4 numbers of the First, Second, Third, Bliss and Sweet prizes will win prize money too.

“The change was from the previous last 3 numbers of a ticket to the current first 4 numbers of a ticket. In this case, the Second Prize winning number drawn was 4149497, therefore anyone holding tickets with first 4 numbers of 4149, will win RM100 per ticket.”

She also stated that the company is actively promoting Yu Cai Foundation, whereby all surpluses from Big Sweep will be donated to the Foundation, to provide scholarship to deserving students and teachers in the field of vernacular studies.
